Akihiko loves him, too, but isn't too keen on having a relationship, because he's worried about ruining their friendship, knows Shinjiro isn't the most stable of people to have as a boyfriend, and has a hard time picturing himself in a gay relationship since Shinjiro is really the only man he's ever had feelings for. He would rather stay just friends. Besides, he has come to care a lot about Ashe, and at this point, wouldn't consider leaving her.

• They started dating not too long after coming to xovercrack. Ashe is a lot like Mitsuru, and is generally Akihiko's type. They've been one the most stable couples at xovercrack thus far, and have never broken up or really fought. Sometimes Shinjiro can get in their way, but it isn't usually too much of a problem. They're pretty happy together and with things the way they are.

• He has nothing against him personally, but their beliefs clash to the point that they must battle. Or at least, they would if they weren't at xovercrack. Here, they are cautious of each other, but since there is no Dark Hour, they have no reason to fight. Akihiko was actually glad that Shinjiro was dating Jin. He'd felt for a long time that Shinjiro was lonely and making it worse by never leaving his side. That being said, he's disappointed they broke up so quickly.

• Akihiko is nice, so, he doesn't hate Takaya as much as he should, but he does dislike him and will do almost anything it takes to stop him from completing his plan as the leader of Strega. Here, they have no reason to fight since there is no Dark Hour, though there is still a bit of bad blood between the two.

School today was so boring. I was daydreaming about fighting shadows in Tartarus all day. (Why doesn't Arisato-kun ever want to go anymore?) Mitsuru was pretty mad that I skipped out on student council, too. I was hoping to get some ramen with Shinji, but I couldn't find him. Why don't you ever go to school, Shinji?
